Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. It's coming, just taking a little longer to integrate the picture I'm focusing on than I'd thought. Soon!
Surely even the worst and most corrupt businessman in the world would have a contract for 6 million US taxpayer dollars???
Why haven’t we seen it??
If Bukele insisted on only convicted criminals in a signed contract for 6 million $ then the FELON has a huge problem on black in white paper unrelated to his egregious abuses of our rights according to our Constitution.
Granted the FELON has long broken business contracts but the whole world needs to see this!!
I'm not sure I understand your question/issue. The White House itself proudly announced this contract, which you can see also reported by multiple sources, from AP to Fox News. (Just Google "Trump agreement Bukele $6 million.") This article is carefully sourced- but again, I'm not sure what you're asking or commenting on. When a contract like this one has been discussed by both parties in the open and reported in multiple media outlets, it doesn't need to be "signed" or circulated like an employment contract. The "convicted criminals" part is a result of the New York Times piece I reported here, which has now been reported by multiple sources. And in my opinion, the world IS seeing this, including as mentioned, the International Criminal Court, which is likely why Bukele transferred Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a different facility.
I want to see reported the actual written contract. As far as I’ve read so far it’s just something discussed between the players. In this administration NOTHING should be taken for granted. If Bukele put in the actual contract that he is only taking the “convicted” then the contract is VOID because from what I understand none of them are actually convicted of anything. Is there a written contract and what does it say? It would not surprise me if a contract does not exist. Trump is throwing our tax dollars around like confetti.
I’m not taking issue with a single thing you wrote I’m just wanting more information that I see as extremely important to exposing the fascist soft coup of our government.
“When a contract like this one has been discussed by both parties in the open”….
Both of said parties are as corrupt and crooked as any anywhere. Until the contract is seen by reputable sources then it doesn’t exist as far as I’m concerned
Yes, they ARE bad, fully agree. Although as I stated at the outset, I don't think this is a moral reckoning for Bukele, or a wish to be less of a dictator. It is that Trump has too obviously made clear Bukele's willingness to imprison and torture people without cause, a reputation he has tried mightily to refashion. And he is a party to several international treaties that enforce human rights, and which he can be tried for violating. Here's a list of those in case that's of interest: https://tbinternet.ohchr.org/_layouts/15/TreatyBodyExternal/Treaty.aspx?CountryID=55&Lang=EN.
To keep the text clean, I always list my sources APA-style, as you might find them in books, at the end of the full piece. You'll find the NYT piece linked first. :)
Ah. I’m more of an AP style girl myself and I think we’re used to hyperlinks these days, but fair enough. I found that superb Times piece before I saw your answer but happy now to have seen the other links. Thanks.
Thank you Bo Forbes!🙏💚

Fabulous depth to this - really helps undo superficial snap judgements and places the corruption in context. Thank you.

I didn’t need the NYT’s to say what Bukele had posted in early Feb.
I’ve posted his tweet on here repeatedly asking that it be looked into for weeks now
You know things are bad when the other dictators are like "this is too dictator-y for me".
